I ♥ ROMA

The five days of Rome have been a joyful experience. The weather was good. Quite hot. (Apart from the one-hour-rain and thunderstorm one late afternoon, when we went into a bar and ate some more ice-cream. :)
I saw mostly all the sights and got some good impressions of the 'citie's life'.

Colosseo

La fontana di Trevi

La bocca della veritá.

The Pantheon has a whole in it's cupola. We visited it after the rainstorm and the columns were reflected in the water on the ground. But, as you see on the picture. The sun was shining bright again by that time. :)

St. Peter's Basilica at night.

And here are the more hidden, but lovely parts of Rome. At least, what I've found of it.

See that shade? It's from the St. Peter's Basilica

Basilica Julia. Or, well the remains of it.

Found on some stonebench.

Caesar with roses.

white/grey and rainbow

White and grey are easy colours to find in ROME. There are old white/grey statues or buildings everywhere. And don't forget all the old pieces of columns, temples, archways etc. just lying around ...

the Alps from above

And then I even found some rainbow.

I will soon post some Rome photos.
"Just have a little patience... yeahiyeah..." (Patience - Guns N' Roses) :)

Still Alive !

Hello again.
I am already back since well actually Tuesday evening, but did not manage to post anything till now. It was just too much these days...

Here are my (very) late greens.

In Rome every three metres someone else offeres you a paper parasol like the ones you sometimes get sticking in your ice cream.
And when on one afternoon it started to rain out of the sudden, the paper thingys were gone and normal umbrellas appeared. :D

I love the look of this trees. And they're green.

Purples

I am going ot Rome tomorrow, so I'm sorry I will not be able to upload any colour photos until next week. I'm going to take them on each day and then going to post them later on.

PS: Germany is in the semi-finals of the Ice Hockey World Cup! :)

Yellow/Orange

Yellow (or orange) was somehow difficult, in the end I decided to just take a round through my room, which is actually pretty much yellow and orange (and red). Starting with the colour of my walls, but I didn't know how to take a photo of that. Those who know... well.. you know what it looks like. ;)

This is a Swedish postcard hanging on my (yellow&orange) wall. :) I quite like it. Giraffes are my favourite!
And I like receiving post through the daily mail in our mailbox which doesn't happen too often.

My best friend JK and I got creative last summer and named one music group for every letter of the alphabet (except for Y, half because we hadn't found anything nice anyway and half because cut off the paper a bit too short) on an old piece of wallpaper. With Q there goes Queen. Pretty cool, and pretty yellow. By the way, see the yellow cupboard doors in the background?!

And this is some yellow book of mine (laying on my yellow ! desk pad). But it is no normal book. It's a book to fill in yourself, it's about lists of your life. Things like: List your favourite songs, list all the places you'd like to go someday, list what would happen if your parents left you alone for a day, list scary things (like spiders) and lots lots more. :)

Right now I'm listening to Empire Of The Sun.
Sun. Yellow. Yeah.

See? Pretty much yellow in my day...

forget-me-not

Since the sky unfortunately wasn't blue today I had to go outside, find something else instead.
These beautiful flowers are all over our garden. And not only our garden. You find them everywhere. All around the streets. I love their colouring. See the differences in the shades of blue?

late red monday

Like I already said, I am a bit late, with the colour week, but still here is my RED monday shot.

I found the instruction to do that little heart thing on the Internet via Weheartit. It's made out of a paper clip. Pretty simply. If someone is interested, I will post the instruction some other day. Just leave a note.

I'm using it as a bookmark at the moment. The book it's clipped in on the photo is Looking For Alaska, one of my favourite books. At that page, or better in that chapter, they're telling each other about their best and worst days of their lives. And that is so amazing. Mostly only because it are so simple stories and so simple days.

Alaska: "Best day of my life was January 9, 1997. I was eight years old, and my mom and I went to the zoo on a class trip. I liked the bears. She liked the monkeys. Best day ever. End of story."

The days you care about most, don't always have to be huge. It's the little things that make your day. Things like a hug someone gives you, a smile, some words, the sun shining down on you ... Life. The things everybody should care about.

Do you have a best day of your life? Or a worst?

Colour Week

Colour Week is an attempt to go and find the colour in the grey of the everyday-life. It's a about looking out for a special colour adn letting it toutch your day.
I must admitt I am already a day late, 'cause I only just discovered it yesterday evening and was too tired to start it then. So I'm going to try to capture something colorful this week and show it to you.

I found this project on randomness, a blog, i truly, really like.
It was started on curious girl, where there also is a blogroll with participants.
I'm sure there will be lots of lovely photos to be discovered!

So here are the rules:

Monday, May 17th: all shades of reds (including pink)
Tuesday, May 18th: all shades of blues
Wednesday, May 19th: yellows and/or oranges
Thursday, May 20th: purples
Friday, May 21st: all shades of greens
Saturday, May 22nd: rainbow/multi and/or whites/greys

Feel free to start patricipating a bit late, just like I do. ;)

SWEET TEMPTATION

After a little disaster on Friday, at least these little cupcakes ended well. The pink colour comes from the strawberries which is as well in the batter as in the frosting. I tasted one myself and am pleased it is eatable. Sweet and sticky. ;) I gave them all to my mom today for Mother's Day !

STRAWBERRIES

Today I was at JK's. Again. And again it was gorgeous. We simply bought ½ kg of strawberries and created this delicious piece of food!

Further I've been to the hairdresser's, to sports and to evening school to learn Spanish.

On the weekend I'm finally going to meet other young people going abroad for ten month with me!
And, (guess what) tomorrow I'll be at JK's again! Our plan is to make cupcakes. We got the idea and the recipe from milk and honey cafe. It's going to be another fine day!

Romeo & Juliet

"And I can't do a love song like the way it's meant to be.
I can't do everything but I'd do anything for you.
Can't do anything except be in love with you."
